About the Opportunity
Our education staffing agency is seeking a dedicated Inclusion/Resource Support Teacher to provide specialized academic support and services to students with disabilities in both general education and resource settings. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about inclusive practices, collaboration, and helping students succeed in the least restrictive environment.
The Inclusion/Resource Support Teacher will work closely with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to ensure students receive the accommodations, modifications, and individualized support necessary to achieve academic success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction and academic interventions to students receiving special education services.
- Support students in inclusive classroom settings through co-teaching, consultation, and direct instructional support.
- Deliver small-group and individualized instruction based on student needs and IEP goals.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations, modifications, and evidence-based instructional strategies.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation related to IEP goals and special education services.
- Assist students in developing academic, organizational, self-advocacy, and study skills.
- Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and parent conferences.
- Promote student independence while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and district special education requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Exceptional Children Education, or a related field.
- Valid NC Special Education/Exceptional Children teaching license.
- Knowledge of IEP development, special education procedures, and inclusive instructional practices.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with students, families, and school personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting students in inclusion and resource settings.
- Experience with co-teaching models and collaborative service delivery.
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction, progress monitoring, and intervention strategies.
- Familiarity with a variety of disability categories and learning needs.
- Experience utilizing educational technology and data-driven instructional practices.
