This full-time contract role is focused on supporting an elementary Structured Development Classroom (SDC) with a current caseload of 7 students, with a maximum of 15. Two positions are available for dedicated educators who thrive on fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active California mild/moderate special education credential required
- Experience working in elementary special education settings, especially in SDC classrooms, is highly valued
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to providing a nurturing, engaging, and equitable educational environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students on your caseload
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student success
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and compliance paperwork
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture while promoting social, emotional, and academic development
