Special Education Teacher - Andover, MN

A rewarding contract opportunity is available for two Special Education Teachers specializing in elementary resource instruction. This role is based at a unique elementary school where mathematics, science, and engineering are at the heart of a dynamic, project-based curriculum serving kindergarten through fifth-grade learners.
In this position, you’ll provide tailored instruction and case management for students requiring special education support—helping them navigate academic challenges within a collaborative, future-focused setting. The school’s integration of the Project Lead the Way Launch program means you’ll join a team fostering hands-on learning in engineering and computer programming alongside essential academic and life skills.
What you’ll bring:
- Valid Minnesota teaching certification (Tier 3 or 4 required; must be attached to your application along with your resume)
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in resource or elementary settings
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes, differentiated instruction, and behavior management strategies
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, general education faculty, and support staff
- Commitment to inclusivity, positive reinforcement, and a growth mindset approach
Your responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and resource support to K-5 students in collaboration with classroom teachers
- Write, implement, and track progress on IEP goals
- Coordinate and communicate with parents, specialists, and service providers
- Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal special education requirements
- Foster a positive, engaging environment that helps each student achieve their fullest potential
This contract offers a weekday schedule (Monday through Friday; 37.5 hours per week) from early September 2026 through early June 2027.
