Special Education Teacher | Arvada, Colorado

A full-time contract position is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to work onsite with students ages 18-21 at a vibrant transitions center. You’ll guide a small caseload of 12 learners, fostering essential life and employment skills both in the classroom and out in the community.
As the Transitions Intensive Teacher, your talents will make a lasting difference by preparing students for the next chapter in their lives. You’ll collaborate within a supportive team, implement individualized education plans, and enable students to reach their fullest potential.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education Teacher license or in process (must provide with application)
- Minimum of one year of classroom experience (special education setting preferred)
- Flexible, supportive team player with strong communication skills
- Proficient in writing IEPs, behavioral support plans, and collecting/analyzing student data
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach, model, and reinforce job readiness and independence skills in classroom and community settings
- Write and implement effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs)
- Accurately collect, track, and utilize data to inform instruction and program improvement
- Collaborate with colleagues and families to support diverse learner needs
- Supervise and guide students during offsite community-based activities
