Special Education Teacher in Montrose, CO

Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid Colorado Special Education teaching license or eligibility for Colorado reciprocity
- Familiarity with IDEA and special education compliance
- Experience supporting elementary school students preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Capacity to deliver individualized instruction and maintain proper documentation
- Willingness to assist in student evaluations and participate in team meetings
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instructional support to elementary students receiving special education services
- Implement, monitor, and document progress toward IEP goals
- Ensure all compliance records and documentation meet district and legal standards
- Collaborate closely with staff, families, and service providers for best student outcomes
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and evaluation processes as needed
The position accommodates in-person professionals, but hybrid arrangements will be considered. The daily schedule will be determined upon placement, with a manageable elementary caseload anticipated (pending district confirmation).
