Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education for the relevant grade levels
- Experience working with students who have a wide range of learning, emotional, and physical disabilities
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Strong communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and staff
- Ability to create and adapt lesson plans to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Resourcefulness and patience in overcoming daily challenges
- Comfortable with both in-person and virtual learning environments, if needed
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to students’ IEP goals
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, aides, and specialists
- Conduct assessments and track students’ progress, modifying strategies as necessary
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate documentation
- Provide behavioral and academic support, fostering a positive classroom atmosphere
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student development
- Uphold high standards of professionalism and confidentiality
