Embark on a meaningful role shaping special education services for middle school students as a full-time Evaluation Team Leader. Working onsite throughout the 2026–2027 school year, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with federal and state special education regulations while fostering successful collaboration among families, school teams, and community resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of state (M.G.L. 71B and 603 CMR 28.00) and federal special education requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between families, principals, staff, and community agencies to facilitate appropriate specialized services for students in grades 6–8.
- Manage the evaluation process and ensure the accuracy and completeness of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for an assigned caseload.
- Attend targeted professional development sessions as directed by the Bureau of Pupil Services.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to prioritize student needs in a multicultural community.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field is required.
- Current Massachusetts certification as a Teacher for Students with Moderate Disabilities strongly preferred; DESE certification or licensure in a related area may be considered.
- At least three years of proven success in a public school setting.
- Background in special education, counseling, guidance, or psychology through coursework or work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds and a strong sense of empathy for those with special needs.
- Must pass a drug screen and complete fingerprinting/background checks (CORI).
