Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (required)
- MA certification as Teacher for Students with Moderate Disabilities preferred; other DESE certifications/licenses may be considered
- Three years' successful public school experience
- Background in special education, guidance, counseling, or psychology
- Experience and sensitivity working in multicultural communities
- Empathetic approach to working with children and families with special needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide compliance with state/federal special education regulations (M.G.L. 71B, 603 CMR 28.00)
- Coordinate/facilitate the special education process, acting as school liaison
- Manage and finalize all IEPs for assigned caseload
- Support, communicate, and collaborate with staff, community agencies, and families
- Attend ongoing professional development
