Key Qualifications:
- Valid Oregon teaching certification with an endorsement in Special Education
- Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably at the elementary level
- Knowledge of best practices in providing instruction and accommodations for students with mild to moderate disabilities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for engaging with students, families, and team members
- Ability to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Commitment to creating a positive, inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction aligned with each student’s IEP goals
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Foster a supportive, structured classroom atmosphere with paraprofessional assistance
- Monitor and document student progress and adjust interventions as necessary
- Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, and families
- Participate in IEP meetings, conferences, and relevant professional development
- Effectively manage a 32-student caseload, ensuring compliance and advocacy for every child
