Job Description
A school district in Los Angeles, California is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher (Mild/Moderate) for a full‑time, school‑based contract. This position serves K–12 students and offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative educational environment with ongoing professional and administrative support. Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction and educational support to students with mild to moderate disabilities
- Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with IDEA and California state regulations
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families
- Adapt curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessments to meet individual student needs
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust instruction based on IEP goals
- Participate in and facilitate IEP meetings while ensuring procedural compliance
- Serve as a case manager for assigned students as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and student records
- Support a structured, inclusive, and positive learning environment
Qualifications
- Active California Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Mild/Moderate Support Needs) required
- Credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) required
- English Learner Authorization (CLAD or equivalent) required
- Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, and district clearances
- Licensing and credentialing support may be available for eligible candidates
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
Experience
- Previous school‑based or special education experience preferred
- Experience supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities preferred
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs preferred
- New graduates with appropriate credentials are encouraged to apply

Work Hours
- Monday–Friday
- 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Approximately 37–40 hours per week
