Special Education Teacher in Minneapolis, MN

Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education license with Physical and Health Disabilities (P/HD) endorsement (required)
- Previous experience working as a Special Education teacher, especially with K-12 students
- Skilled in conducting functional evaluations, writing IEPs, and managing due process
- Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication, organization, and consultation skills
- Familiarity with curriculum modifications, classroom accessibility, and assistive technology
- Able to commit to a full school year (37.5 hours per week), on-site
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide itinerant support and consult with classroom teams to ensure curriculum accessibility
- Conduct student evaluations and develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans
- Collaborate closely with occupational therapists, physical therapists, and general education staff
- Offer guidance and training on assistive technology and adaptive equipment
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to maximize independence and academic growth
- Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with state and district requirements
