Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Maine Special Education Teacher License required
  • Experience working with middle and high school students is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Collaborative approach when working with other educators and staff

Core Responsibilities:

  • Attend IEP meetings, typically scheduled before or after the school day according to availability and the needs of the school
  • Draft written notices and various documents required for meetings
  • Enter and update student information in IEPs to ensure accuracy
  • Coordinate with school staff to provide flexible meeting and paperwork support
  • Offer assistance and guidance in both the high school and middle school environments
  • Adapt support to the fluctuating needs during the school year, especially leading up to IEP deadlines
  • Help staff manage caseloads and meet timeline requirements
