Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education (required)
- Demonstrated experience teaching or co-teaching math at the upper elementary or middle school level
- Strong understanding of inclusion models and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Comfort adapting lessons and assessments to diverse learning profiles
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with students, teachers, and families
- Ability to foster a positive, supportive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide math instruction for students in 5th and 6th grade inclusion classes
- Collaborate with general education teachers to modify and deliver lesson plans
- Implement IEP goals, collect ongoing data, and adjust instruction accordingly
- Communicate regularly with families and educational teams about student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of comprehensive learning plans
- Use evidence-based strategies to engage students and encourage academic success
