Exciting full-time contract opportunities are available for passionate Special Education Teachers eager to make a meaningful impact in the New Windsor, NY area. Work closely with dedicated classroom support staff in self-contained classrooms designed to meet diverse student needs. Students are placed based on IEP goals, developmental levels, and the requirement for behavioral support, ensuring tailored instruction and support for every learner.
Current Openings:
- Kindergarten/Elementary Special Education Teacher (Grades 1–3 coverage in high demand) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- Preschool Special Education Teacher (SFP Program, preschool coverage in high demand) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Key Qualifications:
- Certification in Early Childhood Special Education and/or K–12 Special Education preferred.
- Previous classroom experience working with students with IEPs, various academic developmental levels, and behavioral support needs.
- Ability to collaboratively teach and lead in a classroom with significant support (three additional staff per class).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proper state clearances required prior to start.
Your Role:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction based on IEP and developmental goals.
- Teach and implement adapted curriculum that supports academic, social, and behavioral growth.
- Collaborate with classroom aides and related service providers to ensure a supportive learning environment.
- Help design and monitor behavior support plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and participate actively in IEP meetings.
