Special Education Teacher in Poughkeepsie, NY

These classrooms are designed to support students referred from local public districts, providing individualized instruction in small, self-contained settings. Each room is staffed with one Special Education Teacher and three additional support professionals, ensuring a collaborative and supportive environment.
Current openings include:
Kindergarten/Elementary Special Education Teacher
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–3:30 PM
- Immediate need for Grades 1–3 classroom coverage
- Preferred certification: Early Childhood Special Education or K–12 Special Education
Preschool Special Education Teacher (SFP Program)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–3:00 PM
- High demand for preschool classroom coverage
- Preferred certification: Early Childhood Special Education or K–12 Special Education
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid New York State certification in Special Education (Early Childhood or K–12 preferred)
- Experience teaching students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
- Understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Strong classroom management and teamwork skills
- State clearances required before assignment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction in line with IEP goals
- Implement behavior support plans when necessary
- Collaborate closely with classroom support staff
- Maintain regular communication with families and related service providers
