Exciting opportunities are available for dedicated Special Education Teachers seeking full-time, onsite positions in the New Windsor, NY area. These contract positions serve students referred by local school districts into highly supportive, self-contained special education classrooms. Each classroom is staffed with 1 teacher and 3 additional support professionals, maintaining optimal ratios for personalized instruction and enhanced learning environments.
Currently open roles include:
Kindergarten/Elementary Special Education Teacher
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- High demand for Grades 1–3 instruction
- Prefer candidates with certification in Early Childhood Special Education and/or K–12 Special Education
Preschool Special Education Teacher (SFP Program)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Significant need for preschool classroom leaders
- Prefer candidates with certification in Early Childhood Special Education and/or K–12 Special Education
Qualifications & Experience Sought
- Current New York State Special Education Teacher certification (Early Childhood and/or K–12 preferred)
- Experience working with students with a range of academic and behavioral support needs
- Knowledge of IEP goals, lesson differentiation, and individualized behavior support
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary classroom team
- State and federal clearances required prior to start
Role Responsibilities
- Design and implement individualized instruction based on IEP goals
- Foster a safe and inclusive classroom for students with diverse needs
- Collaborate with classroom support staff to maximize student engagement and progress
- Use data-driven strategies to address academic and behavioral objectives
- Communicate regularly with families and IEP teams regarding student progress
