Openings are available for both Kindergarten/Elementary and Preschool Special Education Teachers. If you have a passion for working with young learners and meeting each student’s individual needs, this environment provides meaningful daily engagement and collaboration.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid New York State Special Education Teacher Certification (Early Childhood and/or K–12 Special Education preferred)
- Experience supporting students with diverse academic and behavioral needs
- Comfort in self-contained classroom settings, implementing IEP goals and developmental benchmarks
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- State-mandated clearances required
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage classrooms of 6–12 students with the support of three dedicated staff
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans aligned with IEPs
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Collaborate closely with teaching assistants and related service providers
- Adapt instructional strategies for diverse learning and behavioral needs
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide progress updates
