You’ll join specialized self-contained classrooms where students are placed according to IEP objectives, learning levels, and behavioral support needs. With small class sizes (6–12 students) and strong staff support (1 teacher, 3 paraprofessionals per room), you’ll dedicate individualized attention to every child.
Open Positions:
- Kindergarten/Elementary Special Education Teacher (Grades 1–3 coverage in high demand) Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:30 AM–3:30 PM
- Preschool Special Education Teacher (SFP Program; high preschool coverage needed) Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–3:00 PM
Qualifications:
- NY Special Education Certification (Early Childhood and/or K–12 preferred)
- Experience with IEP development and implementation
- Background working in specialized or self-contained classroom settings
- State and district clearances required prior to start
Responsibilities:
- Teach and manage small-group instruction for students placed by IEP needs
- Collaborate closely with classroom staff to ensure individualized support
- Implement and document student progress toward academic and behavioral goals
- Foster an inclusive, nurturing, and structured learning environment
